"Everything was great until it wasn’t. Three months after paying my policy, I received a surprise bill for $467.50. I was told this was due to the loss of my multi-car discount. The issue isn’t just the discount being removed; it’s the timing and the condescending tone of the representative. I removed a car from my policy DAYS before making the payment so that would have given State Farm time to remove the discount. So why am I only now receiving this bill, with just one month to pay it? The State Farm representative I spoke to seemed to misunderstand my timeline. Mind you, I had to explain the changes to my account before he could even clarify the bill's origins. If my car had been removed when I called, State Farm could have adjusted my bill at that time. Instead, I’m three months into my policy and facing an unexpected charge. To top it off, I was told I should be grateful that my policy wasn’t canceled and that I’m being given “grace” to pay—grace for a mistake on State Farm’s part?... lol...Okay"

"Hi, Jasenia. Thanks for sharing your experience. I hate to read about these types of interactions; however, it gives me a chance to clarify what happens during these transactions. When changes are made to policies, they don't happen in real time. We submit the change request to other departments that process the changes. If there is a credit or charge applied as a result of the change, another department process that portion of it. So, while what we did here in the agency was as simple as the click of a button, there are other things happening behind the scenes that we have no control over. Thanks for sharing the feedback on the tone of the interaction with our Account Manager. This gives me the opportunity to provide any coaching necessary to better assist policy holders in the future. "
